NYAE PROJECT SPACE

Overview

Equity’s Gallery’s new project space offers the opportunity for its members to show new, experimental or “in progress” works in an intimate setting and as an experiential alternative to its main exhibition spaces.   The space comprises a 160 square foot alcove with three 8’H x 8’W professionally finished and illuminated viewing walls in a “U” dimension.

Ideal Projects

  • Given available resources, projects utilizing traditional media is preferred over projects requiring complex technologies and equipment. We suggest installations comprising 7 – 10 works under 30 inches in any dimension (including frame). Number of works can be adjusted up or down given work dimensions. Salon style and more formal hangs are welcome as are small to mid-sized sculptures, site-specific pieces, mixed media works and works in progress.

  • The gallery will assist in the installation of works and can provide plinths and wall mounts for sculpture. Preference will be provided for drawings and “works on paper” proposals that are framed and ready to hang.

  • Proposals utilizing digital technology must provide the necessary equipment and requisite installation expertise as well as maintain said installation in good working order for the duration of the project. Sound based installations can only be accommodated with headsets.

  • Projects are expected to run between 3 and 4 weeks. Preference will be provided to projects that offer works for sale at moderate prices in keeping with the gallery’s extant market reach. Works consigned for sale will be subject to the gallery’s normal business practices including marketing promotions and commission splits.
