The founding mission of the New York Artists Equity Association arose from the utopian ideal that artists can and should help other artists.

Artist memberships are open to student, aspiring and professional artists, illustrators, allied designers and makers.

 

Lifetime memberships are available for a limited time.

 

Ivory

Entry level membership offering basic benefits for full-time, degree-seeking students.

Benefits include:

  • Free or discounted access to programming & social events including workshops, lectures, critiques & clinics

Cobalt

For practitioners seeking broader market exposure and professional support.  Basic Ivory level benefits plus:

  • Eligible to submit works to open call juried shows including bi-annual online NYAE Members’ Invitational

  • Annual studio visit by upper tier member artists or patrons

  • First access to NYAE professional development workshops

 

Rose

$10/month**

Selective membership awarded to recognized professionals. See application requirements. Benefits of previous levels plus:

  • Showcased  in NYAE blog, newsletters, and social  media content

  • Propose curatorial projects for gallery and online exhibitions

  •  Submit works to be juried into  NYAE Annual Gallery Invitational in our 245 Broome Street location.

 

Emerald

$20/month**

Upper tier of NYAE artist membership solicited from NYAE membership and the greater arts community by NYAE board.  Benefits of previous levels plus:

  • Inclusion in NYAE  Annual Gallery Invitational

  • Participate in NYAE annual “Artists by Artists” as a curator

  • Featured listing on NYAE website

  • Listed on Artist Advisory Board; take an active leadership and influencer role in the association

*NYAE makes a limited number of Ivory scholarships available per year.

** This is an annual contract. Members who pay per month will be billed for one month’s payment at signup with 11 recurring monthly payments. There is a single payment option for each tier as well. Members can select their billing preference upon acceptance.
